Duration: 5.5 HOURS.
This record-breaking 5 ½ hours sightseeing tour of Manhattan (over 45,000 visitors since 2004), features two convenient pick up points: in front of the Sheraton New York Hotel (09:00). Aboard our comfortable motor coach you will be immediately engaged in a twofold experience: a visual repertoire of architectural and urban landmarks along with an historical, anecdotal perspective on New York City’s people and hidden treasures by virtue of a vivid, educational and entertaining narration by one of our seasoned tour directors. We have trained our staff to offer the most stimulating and interactive exposition of Manhattan following a special itinerary designed for a personalized experience with special emphasis on the very best sights and attractions. You can rest assured, we will leave no stone unturned!
The tour starts with an overview of the Upper West Side (Columbus Circle, Times Warner Center, Lincoln Center, Dakota Building, Central Park, Saint John the Divine) and continues onto Harlem (125th street, The Apollo Theater, Lenox Avenue, the Brownstones). You will then proceed south through Fifth Avenue, lined with world-renowned museums and prestigious shops (the “Museum Mile” includes, among others, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, El Museo del Barrio and The Frick Collection), with views of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, The Empire State Building, The New York Public Library, the Flatiron Building, Washington Square and Greenwich Village, where you’ll be able to walk through SoHo, Little Italy, and Chinatown. You will resume the tour aboard the bus until the Brooklyn Bridge, with a stop for a panoramic view of the Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn. You will later continue toward Wall Street, the Financial District, with a stop at Battery Park for a view of the Statue of Liberty (you can select to end the tour here). You will drive through the West Highway, with a view of the newly rebuilt World Trade Center, until the fancy Meatpacking District (optional end of the tour for those who wish to visit the Highline). Lunch is available (not included) in one of the many restaurants in Chelsea Market. The tour ends at Herald Square (Empire State Building, Macy’s). You can visit the Museum of Modern Art this afternoon (or any other day) by exchanging your tour voucher at the ticket office.
